All of the 18 RCTs included in this review [2–4,9,11,16,19,29–39] described a low risk of selection bias and reporting. The most common shortcomings were: a lack of description of concealed allocation; incomplete information about the randomization procedure; and inadequate blinding of participants and personnel.
